CHRIST BIBLE SEMINARY
MISSION STATEMENT
Our goal is to train up a generation of leaders for the Japanese Church who are grounded in the Word of God, transformed by it, faithful in obeying and applying it, skilled in teaching and preaching it, and passionate about the worship of God. We seek graduates who will produce churches that are self-replicating, filled with grace-based, passionate worshippers who are grounded in the transformational Biblical faith and who are disciple-making disciples, and have a vision for the spread of God's Kingdom in Japan and around the world.
We will be incorporating the best of traditional academic education in addition to adopting innovative educational models and technologies. One unique aspect of our training will be the use of a graduation portfolio where our students will be required to demonstrate various ministry excellences (teaching, preaching, discipleship, cultural engagement, etc.) in order to qualify for graduation. We believe that students must be able to demonstrate their learning. Our seminary must also be able to prove the extent to which we have accomplished our stated goals with each individual student.
Finally our students will not be locked in an ivory tower. They will be involved in ministries with the local church, engaged in mentorship relationships with professors and pastors, and will be teaching courses to lay believers through our sister institution called Nagoya Bible Center.

Themes
“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
We believe that this western proverb is a sound principle of leadership development and thus we have adopted as a theme for Christ Bible Seminary.
“Equipping Japanese to Reach Japan”
This theme emphasizes the need for Japanese to be the main instruments used by God to reach their own people, as well as the need for effective and faithful training.
